Cornucopia Cooks this week
Monday 2nd May 2022
- The next “pop in / out” menu is finally here. A celebration of local asparagus, broad beans, lamb and more, featuring on the menu.
- French Toast, how do you like yours?
This Spanish version torrijas, looks delicious and I plan to try it one lunch time this week.,
I have always liked my “eggy bread” with cinnamon sugar, however, my now, best ever, recently discovered, at a fantastic restaurant run by two sisters, on Kensington Church Street (Ffionas) and served with crispy bacon is now a firm favourite. - A quick reminder that the front door is now open (opposite the Co-op), so do come inside next time you’re collecting, a post lock down novelty :).
- I am sure you have heard that there is a crisis with the supply of cooking oil, brought on by the current war in the Ukraine and crop failures last year around the world.. It surprised me to read that not only does Indonesia usually export 30.5 million tonnes of cooking oil annually (compared to 5.4 from the Ukraine),it ( Indonesia) has just banned all oil exports – fascinating, if depressing read in this Bloomberg article.
