During this one day class we will cook the following:
Macaroni cheese:
We will learn how to make a basic white sauce and how to pimp it.
Discuss choosing and cooking pasta.
How much can be done ahead?
What can you add to this basic dish to give a twist.
Risotto:
We will learn about risotto rice.
We will be making various stocks and understanding difference between home-made and cubes/powders/gels.
Discuss what can be done ahead, can it freeze.
Roasts:
We will discuss roasting various meats and options for a veggie/vegan alternative.
Prepare and roast veg
Make gravy and discuss variations.
Discuss quantities, what can be prepared ahead.
Crumble:
We will make a basic crumble and discuss variations.
Lunch will be a roast and crumble.
You will take home a risotto and macaroni cheese
