“Pop out” restaurant at home, feedback, poems, etc

April 11, 2021 By Sandy

April 2021

Thank you Sandy.  A great meal as usual.
April’s menu was a real treat
Plump chicken and a choccy sweet
Sandy is so inventive
She has a good incentive
Eynsham folk are surely the elite
Sue

A lovely meal, enjoyed by all, the octopus was a star and the cake was light and delicious
Lesley

March 2021

Hi Sandy,
We very much enjoyed our cassoulet Friday night.
Here is my attempt at a limerick:
There are two young ladies in Eynsham
Who take food to another dimension.
We just need to book,
Then they chop and they cook,
And the videos I won’t even mention!

Lindsay

Sandy, We just wanted to say how very much we enjoyed the meal last Friday evening.  It was splendid and thank you so much for all those nice little touches including a flower!  It made things feel very special indeed.  I am afraid we have not managed a limerick unfortunately but just wanted to let you know that we thought your meal was fabulous.  We are keeping an eye on the menu for April 8th.  So our great thanks to you and to Harriet.  We love the video demonstration and all the instructions plus of course your wonderful meal!
Thanks again.
With best regards
Ian and Valerie

Hi Sandy,
We had our meal last night and it was absolutely delicious!
It was such a treat to have a special meal, we had candles and wine and the girls joined in and loved all the amazing flavours and the little extra touches.
As we sat digesting our food we came up with this Limerick, it was a family effort and we had lots of fun doing it!
There once was a young chef named Sandy
Whose feasts made my waistband expand-y
Her goats cheese delights, her sea bass- just right!
And those puddings, way better than candy!

Thanks again
Anya

Hi Sandy
Well you excelled yourself, starters to die for, Peter said the cassoulet was better than the last one he had in Carcassonne, sea bass good and the posset and shortbread rounded it off beautifully.
Thank you for making it a great birthday dinner despite not being able to go out.
Best wishes, Hilary

Dear Sandy
Thank you for a super meal as usual.
Here is my limerick:
Goats cheese, beetroot, cassoulet and tart
Great food to eat whilst we are apart
Sandy is an accomplished cook
It’s about the taste but also the look

The weekend is here what a wonderful start
Here is another one for you:
Right in the heart of the village of Eynsham
Cornucopia is a place that needs a mention
Sandy looks after us very well
During this third lockdown hell
Her yummy food certainly eases the tension

Best wishes
Sue

Firstly, thank you so much for the yummy food on Friday night. It was great! My favourite was the chocolate tart!
Katie

Thanks so much for the lovely pop out last week. The fishcakes and the pear frangipane tart were particular favourites!
Leigh

Hi Sandy,
My brain isn’t up to crafting a Limerick at the moment, but thank you for another
wonderful Pop-Out! All delicious as usual, and we enjoyed sharing on Zoom with my Mother-in-Law in Edinburgh to celebrate her birthday!
Looking forward to the next one, which we should get before Baby Cox makes an appearance…by May we should have company!
Victoria

The meal was absolutely delicious Sandy, thanks so much. We tried to compose a limerick but I’m afraid the muse deserted us!

Thanks so much, Sandy.  Sorry this is more than ten words! Sue

‘A delectable, delicious, indulgent and heartwarming lockdown treat!’
Thank you for last night’s pop out meal. Sian

Thanks for the food -delicious as ever! No photos or poetry due to the one armedness, but it was really lovely to have an evening of exciting flavours and no chopping in the midst of a truly rubbish month.
Lucy

We loved Friday’s meal – thank you! Too busy eating to think of anything poetic to say but it was delish. Anytime you want to do the rhubarb meringue dish or Bakewell pudding again, you will have two enthusiastic customers!
Leigh

Very many thanks for Friday’s gorgeous meal: the zingy mackerel, comforting guinea fowl – I loved your subtle spicing – and the luxurious meringue with the roasted rhubarb.

Another great meal, thank you very much. Martin said the crackling was one of the best he’s ever had and the chocolate puddings were to die for! Must order them again!
Jennie

We loved this month’s menu! Didn’t manage to take photos but we particularly loved the chocolate with the salted fudge. If you wanted to sell that separately you would have some willing buyers (though as my husband pointed out that would a bit dangerous for us!)
Thanks, Leigh

We shared both of our starters and they were so tasty and so challenging, that we then relaxed with a bit of your bread and Golsbys cheese.
Looking forward to tomorrow!
Best wishes to you both
Jillian and Rhys

Hi Sandy,
Thanks for another wonderful meal last night. We enjoyed the poetry challenge and present our joint effort in the most noble/easiest poetic form of haiku.
Have a lovely weekend,
Steph and Luke

Dear Sandy,

We really enjoyed the meal. Thank you! Returned all the stuff this morning.
Angie and Dick

A super meal as usual – there was a fight for the crackling and the lion won!  Thanks so much for the delicious “pop out” meals over the last seven months.   Something to look forward to and lift ones spirits during these crazy last few months.
Best wishes
Sue

November 2020

Super meal as usual Sandy.  Thank you so much.
Best wishes Sue

Just a quick note to thank you so much for the amazing food we enjoyed last night. It really was lovely to have such wonderful food at home and it was all so easy to prepare. Such a treat for us (we have young children so it’s not very easy for us to get out and about for food very often so this was just perfect).
We were too busy enjoying it all to take proper photos but I did take the attached of my husband enjoying his dessert. As I mentioned, he’s having a lockdown birthday next Friday so this was his early birthday meal.
Thanks so much again (suffice to say, I expect we’ll be back for the December pop out!),
Katy (and Jon)

Another lovely meal on Friday…we particularly enjoyed the starters and it must have been years since I’ve had Black Forest Gateaux. Just what was needed at the start of a winter lockdown! Was the Lamb the same as you did in the slow cooking demonstration last year? It was delicious but tasted familiar!
Victoria

Good morning Sandy & Harriet, here are our offerings from our wonderful dinner on Saturday evening. (Unfortunately by the time it got to desert I didn’t watch the YouTube clip and therefore the choc & hazelnut sauce was absent in the photos of the panna cotta – please rest assured it was added later!)
I will drop the packaging back this week at some point.
Thanks
Tom & Tash.

Two days of feasting ‘Thanks to your latest Pop Out’, but so many items, it must have taken you both so long prepare everything for us all, thank you both! Highlights everything!
Best wishes
Jillian and Rhys

Many thanks for another really lovely meal, perfectly cooked. The pigeon was succulent and the lamb so moist and tender, both full of flavour.

In addition the Popplewells wrote “We forgot the crispy leeks in all the excitement, found some rather charred remains next morning! Enjoyed it all despite the interruptions from baby Henry. Thank you again for a lovely meal.

August 2020

Sandy you excelled yourself with the French fruit tarts for August pop out – they were to die for. Ham hock was stunning too – another great pop out night. Thank you
Hilary

Utterly wonderful, Sandy! So beautifully put together. Such lovely little touches.. Thank you so much for creating the basis of a fabulous evening. 🙂
Sarah

Absolutely lovely! Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and complimentedthe chefs every hour, on the hour until12. 30.Pat 🥂

Thanks for some lovely food last night we really enjoyed it!
Iain

Thank you so much for our lovely meals on Friday – absolutely delicious!
Jennie D

Thank you so much, just opening and reading about our choices made us feel, this was special, not sure that  I could live up to it, but have to space it out. Tonights’s starter was so unusual,  particularly the celery and ‘green dill seeds’. Whole thing was so different, only bread and cheese could follow. Can’t wait for more, but patience,
Jillian and Rhys

Some yummy pate to begin a delicious meal with mum this evening. Unfortunately, the hake and tiramisu was too scrumptious looking for me to remember to take a pic first! Would highly recommend the next pop in or pop out restaurant.
Sarah

I forgot to put the condiment on the risotto!! It all tasted delicious and was a wonderful way to celebrate our Anniversary today.
Jenny

Hi Sandy, just wanted to say the meal was delicious. Forgot to take any photos because we were enjoying it too much, in particular I have to say that was the best tiramisu I’ve ever had! Will bring the trays back in the week. Thanks again, Lucy

Wow! Perfect tuna, gorgeous hake, both with great tasting accompaniments and followed by a classic summer pud. The meal kept on giving. Many thanks.
Carolyn

Thank you very much for Friday’s pop out meal- it was amazing! I especially enjoyed the hake, and the little extra touches such as the fresh flowers. Can’t wait to see the menu for the next one! Thanks again,
Sian

Thank you for a delicious meal.  The animals were very happy that you liked the photo last month   and we won a prize.  I’ve told them that we can’t win this month as well but they still wanted to get involved!
Sue

The pop up food was truly delicious – I’m a new convert to ‘real ‘ chicken  Kiev! The hake and tuna were devoured with relish also.
