Malaysian dishes explored

September 17, 2013 By Sandy

Saturday 14th September

Malaysian cooking class

attended by James, Andrew, Andy and Richard – they cooked a meal for 14
We had a very enjoyable evening on Saturday.  The food delicious and well received.  I think the most successful dished were the Satay, Rendang and Stir Fry.  The fish took considerably longer to cook than anticipated and interestingly was not as potent as expected, given the heat in the original marinade. The tilapia fillets were surprisingly slow to cook, I suppose they are a much more ‘meaty’ denser flesh. It’s probably fair to say that the sticky rice pudding was received with a little suspicion and maybe was a rice dish too far!

Thank you for your patience and encouragement during the day, I really enjoyed the experience, particularly getting to use ingredients that were new to me.

Many thanks,

James.
