Dining club ……

November 20, 2017 By Sandy

26th October 2017

Dear Sandy,
Very many thanks for a most enjoyable evening  in good company on Thursday – I loved the menu from the moment I first saw it and it certainly did not disappoint in the eating!! Pork is probably my least favourite meat but the herby stuffed roll was excellent and complemented by the tasty risotto – comfort food at its best and finished off by the very lovely pear in marsala.

Looking forward to the next time.
Best wishes,
Carolyn

  • Thanks Sandy for a wonderful meal last night. The flavours were fantastic! I will definitely be trying the recipes when I persuade someone to give me Jerusalem !
Thanks to everyone for good company.. Fiona
  • I am not saying that all the meals I have had aren’t were delicious – but this one was even better. Peter

The menu was potato latkes with a dill crème fraiche, followed by slow cooked beef shin with sweet spices, prunes and leeks served with Mejedra rice (cooked with lentils and fried onions), followed by poached pears in a chocolate sauce.

Thanks for a really good night, thoroughly enjoyed the company and the food. Les really enjoyed it too.

No weird dreams! It must have been the currants we could see lots of – and they did seem a bit softer than juniper berries.
Thanks for a lovely meal and evening, Sandy.

Thanks for such a wonderful evening last Thursday at the dining club.  The food was delicious and so nice to try something different.  I have passed on the details below to my lot again so hopefully we may have 4 or 6 people for June.  So lovely seeing you too.  Thanks for everything.

October 24th Dining Club 2011

We knew we were in for a treat when we booked ourselves into Sandy’s dining club last Thursday. Sandy’s cooking never disappoints. Surrounded by interesting objects on the shelves that once stocked coffee, olive oil and various other staples found in a food lovers larder, we enjoyed a delicious three course meal. We particularly enjoyed the Belly Pork with it’s subtle flavours of fennel and spices followed by a pear and ginger sponge so light it melted in the mouth. Although it was a little daunting arriving for a meal with eight other guests, many of whom we didn’t know or know well, by the end of the evening we were all laughing at shared jokes. A thoroughly enjoyable evening masterfully hosted by Sandy – we will be coming back.

First Dining Club 2011

It was lovely to be at the christening of the Cornucopia Dining Club, and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
The food was truly delicious, and sorry we missed the Coffee, chilli and chocolate, but look forward to that another time.
We also really enjoyed meeting your other guests there, and think it is a brilliant idea.
Margherita and Mike.
