- Put a kettle on to boil.
- Make a cross, through the skin, on the bottom of each tomato (the opposite side to where it was connected to the vine).
- Place tomatoes in a bowl and cover with boiling water. Leave for 30 seconds and then drain.
- Plunge into a bowl of cold water.
- The skins should start to peel away. Using a non serrated vegetable knife, gently strip the skin from the flesh.
- You can then quarter the tomatoes and take the seeds out. I use my fingers to remove the seeds, but you can use a teaspoon.
